Access Advertising/Design/PR Wins Kendig Award
Agency one of three recognized for support of the arts

Roanoke, Va. (Oct. 5, 2006) -- Access Advertising/Design/PR was recently awarded the Perry F. Kendig Award for Outstanding Support of the Arts by The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge.

The Perry F. Kendig Award, named for the late Roanoke Valley arts patron and former president of Roanoke College, was established in 1985 to recognize examples of support, involvement and accomplishment in the arts, and to inform the community about significant contributions to the arts in the 11-county region the Arts Council serves.

Access received the award for its work on behalf of the area's cultural organizations, including The Dumas Center, the Jefferson Theatre, Grandin Theatre and Art Museum of Western Virginia.

Also recognized were Kathleen Lunsford and Lee Chichester. Recently serving as chair of the Roanoke Arts Commission, Lunsford is known for her distinctive paintings. Chichester's efforts were instrumental in establishing the Jacksonville Center for the Arts in Floyd.
