Rachel L. Morgan Joins Access Advertising/PR
Company expands public relations business

Roanoke, Va. (Oct. 22, 2007) -- Rachel L. Morgan has joined Access Advertising/PR as a public relations account coordinator. Prior to joining the Roanoke-based advertising and public relations firm, she served as associate manager of communications for the American Diabetes Association (ADA) at its national headquarters in Alexandria, Va.

During her tenure with the ADA, Rachel worked with national media to promote news and public awareness initiatives supporting the association’s mission to prevent and cure diabetes and improve the lives of those affected by the disease. She wrote and distributed national press releases and developed communications materials for local community outreach; coordinated media interest surrounding diabetes research, breaking news, and awareness campaigns; and managed press room logistics for the association’s internationally attended annual meeting. Rachel’s background also includes working for a public relations firm, based in Washington, D.C., with a focus on public health, education, and safety.

"We are very pleased to have Rachel join our team," said SVP Terri Jones. "Her writing skills and her experience cultivating relationships with media, especially at the national level, will be a great benefit to Access as we continue to meet the growing PR needs of our clients, and attract new clients as well."

Access Advertising/PR, founded in 1996, has served nearly 400 clients in 12 states, Canada and abroad. The firm has won nearly 400 American Advertising Awards, public relations awards and citations, as well as international awards for exhibit design and CASE awards for work with higher education. Access was also recently awarded the 2006 Perry F. Kendig Award for Outstanding Support of the Arts by The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge and recognized in PRINT Magazine’s Regional Design Issue.
