Access Advertising/PR Wins One Silver, Four Gold Awards for Public Relations Excellence
Blue Ridge PRSA Summits awarded in gala Nov. 2
Roanoke, Va. (Nov. 5, 2007)—Access Advertising/PR was the top-level winner at the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America's Summit Awards. The 11-year-old agency received four gold awards, including the Lin Chaff Award for Creativity, and one silver award at the annual gala on Nov. 2.
The Summit Awards recognize the best in public relations and communications efforts by professional public relations practitioners in Southwest Virginia. The entries were judged by the Central Michigan PRSA Chapter, and each entry was evaluated in four areas: Research, Planning, Execution and Evaluation.
Access received awards in the following categories on behalf of its clients:
- Gold - Community Partnerships – Children’s Advocacy Center, Shaken Baby Syndrome Awareness Campaign
- Silver - Media Relations – LightKeeper Pro Holiday Campaign
- Gold - Special Events – Mountain Lake Hotel, 20th Anniversary of Dirty Dancing
- Gold - Web Site, Modest Budget – Blue Ridge Area Food Bank
- Gold - Lin Chaff Award for Creativity, Modest Budget – Access Photo Reward
"We’re thrilled to be recognized at Summit Awards because they are judged not only on the elements of the campaign but also on successful outcomes," said Terri Jones, APR, Senior Vice President at AccessPR. "It's an honor to be recognized by your peers, but more importantly, the awards acknowledge the results we've achieved for our clients."
PRSA is the world's largest association of public relations professionals. The society's members represent business and industry, counseling firms, government, associations, hospitals, schools, professional service firms and nonprofit organizations.
Access Advertising/PR, founded in 1996, has served nearly 400 clients in 12 states, Canada and abroad. The firm has won nearly 400 American Advertising Awards, public relations awards and citations, as well as international awards for exhibit design and CASE awards for work with higher education. Access was also recently awarded the 2006 Perry F. Kendig Award for Outstanding Support of the Arts by The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge and recognized in PRINT Magazine’s Regional Design Issue.
